Alright alright alright..... This is gonna be so much fun for the whole family!  Your going to just love this weekend of August11th and August 12th.

Starting Saturday August 11th, the Casper Area Mountain Bike Youth Racers (CAMBYR) invite any and all School aged kids from 7th -12th grade to join them in the first ever Wyoming High School Mountain Bike League Race.  This is the first of a 3 race series in Wyoming.  Put together a team from your community and come up with a team name, start a mountain bike club in your school, or come to race on your own.  Team trophy's will be awarded for the top 3 teams.  2 boys and 1 girls points will be taken from each of the Beginner, Junior Varsity and Varsity categories to count for team points.  So 9 racers would fill out a team and score lots of points.

Where:  On Casper Mountain with the start and finish located a hundred yards behind the beautiful Nordic Ski Lodge (drive up Casper Mtn Rd and follow the signs, you can't miss it.  From Laramie, there is a shortcut, turn onto Circle Drive from HWY 487.  about 8 miles of rough gravel, but might save you some time).  Parking in the lodge is available and also in Beartrap Meadow.  There is no parking on the road or Struby loop.  If things get full, we will help direct you.

The lodge will be open all day Sunday with flushing toilets, water and good food.  Meals are included in the entry fee for the racers and the public can get a hardy meal for just 8 bucks.

Teams can set-up their pit zone on Saturday if they like.  There is space for the first 4 teams to set up a tent and have electricity just past the Start/Finish line.  Any other teams can set their tents further down the row, but there will not be electricity.  The main aid station will be just across the trail from the pit zone, so water and gatorade will always be handy.

Citizens who want to race will be charged 10 dollars, but this fee will be waived if you can volunteer on Saturday or Sunday during the races.  We have a variety of ways to volunteer.  Contact Adam at casperhsmtb@gmail.com if you can volunteer.

Goodie bags will be given to all the high school racers.  We have some stuff already, but if you or your business has coupons or goodies that you would like to donate, bring them to registration on Saturday or give us an email and we can pick them up.

Registration will be onsite, but PLEASE RSVP ON THE BLOG SO WE HAVE ENOUGH FOOD for everyone.  www.casperyouthmtb.blogspot.com
There is a map of the course there also.  Check it out and pre-ride if you are in town.

Spectators: check out the course map.  You can see that there are a couple fun spots that a parent or friend could walk too to see some racing action.  With music and announcing at the start/finish, that will be a fun spot.  There is also a great spot about 100 yards from the start/finish that will be good to see the kids on some great single-track.  Another spot would be a short hike across Struby loop and up a hill to watch the kids climbing and then come down a short decent.  Ride your own bike to make it to this spot and then ride back to see all three spots is what I plan on doing :)
